Trip Report: WDW July/Aug 2021 – Day 3

My family and I just returned from a quick visit to “The Most Magical Place on Earth” — Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida. For a sneak peek into how our visit went follow along over the next few posts.  In case you missed it:  Day 1 and Day 2

Day 3: Sunday August 1st, 2021

Resort: Disney’s Yacht Club Resort (Epcot Area)
Theme Parks: Disney’s Hollywood Studios® and Epcot®

Morning/Afernoon

  • Changed resorts today. Used a car service to transfer us and our luggage at 7:30am.
  • Walked to Hollywood Studios® from Yacht Club Resort (about 20 minutes)
  • By 8:15am we were waiting outside the queue for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway®
  • At 8:30am we were let into ride queue and had almost no wait. Great family friendly attraction. (Keep in mind this is for a 9am park opening!)
  • Off the ride by 8:50am
  • Rode Toy Story Mania!® with almost no wait. (One of my favorite rides)
  • Alien Swirling Saucers (10 min wait)
  • Off to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
  • Had about a 60 min wait for Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Our Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Boarding Group was called
  • Ate at Ronto Roasters.  Their wraps are amazing!
  • Rode Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  This was a favorite for the entire family.
  • Watched Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie
  • Ice cream treat!
  • Droid Depot reservations at 12:50pm
  • Took Disney’s Skyliner to Yacht Club Resort.
  • Resort break and naps for all

Evening

  • 5pm dinner at Trattoria al Forno on Disney’s BoardWalk 
  • Walked to Epcot®
  • Soarin’ Around the World –  walk on, no wait (my daughters favorite ride)
  • Living the Land – walk on, no wait
  • Soarin’ Around the World-  10 min wait
  • Spaceship Earth – walk on, no wait
  • Evening
  • The Seas with Nemo & Friends – walk on
  • Enjoyed the living seas area, coral reefs, and
  • Walked back to Yacht Club
  • Snack from Marketplace Ale & Compass

For reference: On Friday July 30th Disney World started requiring face coverings again indoors and in all ride queues. At this time of our visit there are no Fastpasses, separate character meet & greets, and many shows have still not reopened.
